BARCLAYS NAMES JOHN LANGLEY AND JOE MCGRATH CO-HEADS OF GLOBAL FINANCE AND RISK SOLUTIONS

Barclays today announced that John Langley and Joe McGrath have been named Co-Heads of the Global Finance and Risk Solutions (GF&RS) business within the Investment Banking Division.  Messrs. Langley and McGrath will report to Hugh “Skip” McGee, Head of Global Investment Banking, and will join the Investment Banking Division’s Executive Committee, effective immediately.  They succeed Larry Wieseneck who was appointed Chief Strategy Officer.

“John and Joe bring extensive and diverse capital markets experience as well as proven leadership skills to the position,” said Mr. McGee.  “I am confident that under their management our clients will continue to benefit from our integrated approach to client coverage and that our GF&RS business will continue growing and gaining market share.”

Mr. Langley has been Head of Global Risk Solutions since early 2011, and was previously Co-Head of the Risk Solutions business in EMEA.  He has over 20 years of experience in rates and FX derivatives. Mr. Langley joined Barclays in 2006 from Merrill Lynch, where he held several senior positions including Global Head of Currency Options Trading, Head of Risk Advisory Group and Co-Head of Corporate Risk Management.

Mr. McGrath joined Barclays in 2006 to lead the Americas Leveraged Finance business, and has been Head of Global Leveraged Finance since 2010.  He has over 20 years of experience in leveraged finance and leveraged capital markets. Prior to joining Barclays, Mr. McGrath held several key leadership positions at Goldman Sachs, including Head of Credit Syndicate, Head of US High Yield Capital Markets and Head of US High Yield Sales.

Barclays dedicated Global Finance and Risk Solutions Group provides clients with access to the expertise and experience of all of the firm’s finance and risk solutions product teams.  These include equity capital markets, debt capital markets, leverage finance, loans and risk solutions.
