London - Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, today announced the appointment of Jim Renwick, as Managing Director, Head of UK Equity Capital Markets and Corporate Broking within its Investment Banking Division, EMEA. This appointment continues the expansion of Barclays Capital’s Investment Banking and Equities business globally and follows the recent hiring of Tatsuo Kimura as Managing Director and Head of Technology, Corporate Finance in the firm’s Investment Banking Division in Japan and Gabriel Barbará as Head of Equities for Mexico.

Jim will help to lead the build out of Barclays Capital’s UK ECM and Corporate Broking platform, which will allow the firm to provide more world class capabilities to our UK clients. He will report to Richard Boath, Managing Director, Head of Global Finance, EMEA in London and David Erickson, Managing Director, Head of Global Equity Capital Markets in New York.

Jim joins Barclays Capital from UBS where he was Vice Chairman of Investment Banking focusing on Equity Capital Markets. Jim began his spell at UBS in 1990, before leaving to join Bridgewell as Head of ECM in 2006, he then returned to UBS in late 2007 after having sold Bridgewell.
