Barclays Capital named Best Trading Company in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme
Barclays Capital has been voted the best trading company in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) by the readers of Environmental Finance and Carbon Finance magazines. This is the second consecutive year the firm has won the award.
Commenting on the survey, the magazine said: "The financial sector is piling into environmental markets, with pretty much every investment bank now boasting an emissions trading desk, and huge investment going into renewable energy, but this survey shows that early-movers such as Barclays Capital remain out in front. With the second phase of the EU ETS and the beginning of the Kyoto commitment period both starting in January, emissions trading – and competition in the market – is set to hot up in 2008."
This award reaffirms our position as a market-leader in emissions trading and recognises our ability to provide innovative solutions for clients as the emissions markets continue to evolve.
