Barclays Capital has been awarded 'Best Trader' for the second year running by Point Carbon. Point Carbon is the leading news, analysis and consultancy service provider in the carbon markets. The award is voted for by 160 of the most active carbon market participants and recognises the firm's continued leadership in emissions trading.

Since entering the European emissions trading market in 2004, Barclays Capital has been at the forefront of developments in the market. It was the first bank to trade in the spot market and the first bank to take delivery of physical CO2 allowances.
