Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Rees as a Director and Head of Corporate Risk Advisory for Scandinavia, Benelux and Switzerland.  Based in London, Rees will report to both John Langley and Jim O'Neill, Co-Heads of EU Corporate Risk Advisory Group.

Rees will join Barclays Capital on 26 March from Morgan Stanley, where during a six-year career his positions included Head of European Liability Management and before that Restructuring and Head of Nordic and Dutch Corporate Sales. Prior to this, Rees spent five years at Merrill Lynch in the Nordic coverage team.

Chris will be responsible for further developing our risk management business in these regions.

Commenting on the appointment, Langley said "The quality of our coverage in Corporate Risk Advisory has been outstanding. Chris' experience and strategic focus will complement the existing strong team and position us for the next phase of growth in these regions."

The Corporate Risk Advisory team at Barclays Capital is responsible for providing risk management advice and solutions to our Corporate and Public Sector clients across the UK and Europe.
