About Barclays Capital Equity Derivatives Business

After the sale of the cash equity business of BZW to CSFB in 1997, Barclays Capital retained a small equity franchise which focused on providing direct market access for clients to the world’s main stock exchanges, convertible bond issuance, equity derivatives and prime brokerage.   Barclays Capital has invested significantly in its equity derivatives franchise and is now active across the full spectrum of equity derivatives instruments from market access trades and single stock options to complex exotic and multi-asset class (hybrid) structures.  Market coverage extends to all major equity indices along with the more liquid single stocks and an increasing presence in new and emerging markets.
