Mike Di Iorio appointed Head of Equities Trading, Asia Pacific

Hong Kong, 23 August 2010- Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, today announced the appointment of Mike Di Iorio as Managing Director, Head of Equities Trading, Asia Pacific.

Based in Hong Kong, Mike Di Iorio will oversee the firm’s equities trading business across Asia Pacific, incorporating cash equities, convertibles, derivatives - including structured and flow products and warrants - index arbitrage and program trading.

Mr Di Iorio will report to Siggi Thorkelsson, Head of Equities, Asia Pacific, and Joseph Corcoran, Head of Global Equities Trading in New York. He will be based in Hong Kong.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Thorkelsson said, “I am delighted to welcome Mike to the firm; his breadth of experience and expertise will be invaluable as we promote our new Pan Asian equities capabilities to our global client base".

He joins Barclays Capital from Nomura, where he was most recently Co-Head of Equities Trading, Asia-Pacific. Prior to that, he was Head of Flow Derivatives Trading at Lehman Brothers in London and Head of Global Exchange Arbitrage, Europe at the Bank of America in Frankfurt and London.
