House of the year for Bonds, Securitisation and Credit Derivatives

23 Dec 2009

Barclays Capital has won three House awards in IFR's Review of the Year:

  • Bond House of the Year
  • Credit Derivatives House of the Year
  • Securitisation House of the Year

IFR wrote the following remarks about Barclays Capital:

Bond House of the Year
“It was always going to be a momentous year for Barclays Capital. The amalgamation…was the type of exercise that could have dragged on and undermined business at a critical time. It was swiftly dealt with, however, and its successful completion reaped rewards across the globe.”

Securitisation House of the Year
“…in the tough area of securitisation, the bank proved adept at marrying the balance sheet of Barclays with the nimbleness of Lehman, to create a well-balanced business that delivers a commanding global presence.”

Credit Derivatives House of the Year
“While most houses ran for the exits, one bank took advantage of its new global status and seized a rare opportunity to build market share. For its part in advancing the competitive environment and its leading role in shaping market reform, Barclays Capital is IFR’s Credit Derivatives House of the Year.”
