Singapore – Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, today announced that Ryan Bacher has joined the firm as Managing Director, Head of Prime Services, Asia Pacific.

Mr. Bacher will be based in Hong Kong and will oversee Barclays Capital’s Prime Services offering in Asia Pacific, which incorporates equities financing, fixed income financing, futures and the firm’s multi-asset class prime brokerage platform. He will report to Ajay Nagpal, Head of Prime Services.

Commenting on the appointment Mr. Nagpal said, “Ryan’s breadth of experience and expertise in Asia is well aligned with Barclays Capital's goal of developing a leading global Prime Services business, which was further demonstrated by the appointment in early September of Ashley Wilson as Head of Prime Services, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Our clients will benefit from Ryan’s proven track record of building a strong Asian Prime Services franchise.”

Mr. Bacher joins Barclays Capital from Deutsche Bank where he spent 11 years in various senior positions in Prime Finance and Prime Brokerage in Hong Kong and London, most recently as Regional Head of Asian Prime Finance based in Hong Kong.
