Hong Kong, 7 September 2009. Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, is pleased to confirm the appointment of Matthew Ginsburg as Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking, Asia Pacific.

Matthew Ginsburg joins from Morgan Stanley where he held the position of Head of Investment Banking, Asia Pacific. At Barclays Capital, Mr Ginsburg will be responsible for the management of the firm’s Investment Banking activities across Asia Pacific. He will be a member of the Barclays Capital Asia Pacific Executive Committee and of the Investment Banking Division Executive Committee. Mr Ginsburg will be based in Hong Kong and will report regionally to Robert Morrice, Chairman and Chief Executive, Asia Pacific, Barclays PLC and globally to Hugh (Skip) E. McGee III, Head of Investment Banking.

Mr Ginsburg joined Morgan Stanley in 1996 in Asia and has held various positions at the firm including: Head of Asia Pacific FIG, Investment Banking Operations Officer, and Head of M&A Asia Pacific. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Matthew was with First Boston in New York, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
