London (September 2nd, 2009) – Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, today announced that Ashley Wilson has joined the firm as Managing Director, Head of Prime Services, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Mr. Wilson will be based in London and will oversee Barclays Capital’s Prime Services franchise across EMEA, which incorporates equities financing, fixed income financing, futures and the firm’s multi-asset class prime brokerage platform. He will report to Ajay Nagpal, Head of Prime Services.

Mr. Nagpal commented, “Ashley’s experience of developing prime services businesses, of the European markets, and of risk management and financing is strongly aligned with our growth objectives. As we expand our Prime Services business in markets across the globe, Ashley will help to ensure the best solutions and service for our clients.”

Previously at Bank of America Merrill Lynch for three years as Managing Director and Head of Global Market Financing and Services, EMEA, Mr. Wilson has over 15 years of experience across European markets in a variety of trading, financing and risk management roles.
