Appoints David Lau as Managing Director, China Coverage

Hong Kong - Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Lau, as Managing Director, Investment Banking China within the Investment Banking Division. This appointment further highlights the expansion of Barclays Capital’s Asian Investment Banking business and follows last month’s hiring of Steven Sun and January’s hiring of FIG bankers in Japan.

David will act as the main coverage banker for corporates in China, focusing on telecom, media and technology as well as general industrials. He will work alongside David Zhang and Baomin Li, Managing Directors, Investment Banking China, as the senior client coverage team heads responsible for originating business opportunities.

He will be based in Hong Kong and will report to Chris Hui, Head of Investment Banking China/Hong Kong.

David joins Barclays Capital from Citigroup where he spent the previous 10 years, the past two as Managing Director, telecom, media and technology with an emphasis on equities and mergers and acquisitions.
