Barclays Capital named Currency Derivatives House of the Year by AsiaRisk
Barclays Capital has been named 'Currency Derivatives House of the Year' in AsiaRisk's annual awards.
Commenting on the award, AsiaRisk said: "The need for the right investment theme was highlighted in the past year by forex solutions being sought for investment objectives other than merely managing future liabilities or currency exposure. A combination of talent, investment in technology and strategic organisation structure has enabled Barclays Capital to deliver products linked to currencies that might otherwise prove difficult to access…. As winner of this year's currency derivatives house award, the UK bank earned praise from its clients for putting together indexes linked to baskets of currencies and packaging them into accessible formats such as exchange-traded notes or mutual funds… A client commented 'Barclays Capital is very strong and advanced in terms of forex options and swaps because of their high-quality quantitative skills. They provide very complex trades in emerging-country currencies; path-dependent currency-type options are often included in these transactions.'"
