Managing Director, Head of Fixed Income, and Head of Global Markets - Trading, Americas

Eric Bommensath is a Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income, and Head of Global Markets - Trading, Americas at Barclays Capital. In addition, he has overall responsibility for the firm’s Derivative Counterparty Risk Management business. Mr. Bommensath is a member of the Executive Committee of Barclays Capital.

In his role as Head of Fixed Income, Mr. Bommensath has global responsibility for credit, interest rate and asset-backed trading.

Currently based in New York, Mr. Bommensath joined Barclays Capital in London in 1997 as Head of Derivatives, Europe, after an eight-year career at Bankers Trust in London, Tokyo and Paris. A French national, he began his career trading French Government Bonds before moving to European fixed income derivatives in 1991. He was appointed a Managing Director in 1995 with responsibility for Japanese fixed income derivatives and then headed the firm’s European fixed income and FX options books.

Mr. Bommensath studied Science at École Polytechnique in Paris and Engineering at École Ponts et Chaussées.
